QUESTION from Beth Taddei:
I was raised protestant and am now Catholic (thanks to marriage to a Catholic). Purgatory was completely foreign to me. A question that haunts me is: "Do protestants go to purgatory?" If the answer is yes, then many protestants (most of my blood relatives) have no one to pray for them as protestants do not know about purgatory. I would be much appreciated if you could shed some light on this question. Your website is the best that I have found. God bless you for your devotion to spread the news. Beth Taddei
ANSWER from Susan Tassone founder of, "The Apostolate of the Holy Souls in Purgatory":
All who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven: (Catechism of The Catholic Church, no. 1030.)
So this applies to everyone, Protestant, Jew, etc.
It is believed that some of the most abandoned souls are those of our Protestant brothers and sisters and nonbelievers who do not believe in Purgatory, because indeed no one prays for them. So we need to pray for them most earnestly.
I would encourage her to buy my new book because it covers the most often asked questions on Purgatory plus much more!
IN THE SOULS,
Susan Tassone
